I arrive at the office around 8.50am and then the first task of the day is to work through emails from retailers, usually they are requests for stats and for stationery, such as application form pads, so they have to be dealt with as a priority.

I also have emails from our Business Development Managers and our lenders to deal with, usually it will be about new business files. I work on new files on a daily basis as I’m responsible for managing the whole process. It starts with writing the initial offer letter and asking for and receiving accounting documentation. I’ll also carry out Experian searches, conduct FCA checks, and complete credit application forms right through to final set-up with the lender.

In between answering email requests, there are quite a few telephone enquiries.  As Lisa, the Business Support Manager is tied up this morning, I deal with a new business enquiry from a plumbing company who need some guidance on how to become authorised to offer finance.

I take a quick break at lunchtime when I volunteer to go out for sandwiches for the team. Today is also a management information reporting day, so after lunch I start producing and analysing retailer reports outlining the number of acceptances, the number paid out and the value of the deals paid out too.

Throughout the day I’m responsible for providing support to four of our BDMs, so my role involves a lot of multitasking. It gets particularly busy around 4 o’clock when they start to call the office requesting updates to their meeting notes and diaries on the CRM, as well as making new requests for digi-sig logins and training sites for retailers to use. Before I know it, it’s 5 o clock and time to go home.
