STL Heating has opened a new advice centre dedicated to energy efficiency and renewable energy in Anfield. The centre is a proud achievement for Merseyside-based company, who are also winners of the NW Green Deal and Eco Award for its work in helping people in fuel poverty.
The new centre has received support from the Department of Energy and Climate Change, and the opening was attended by Stephen Rotheram MP, Louise Ellman MP, Stephen Twigg MP, Steve Rotheram MP and Phyllis Boardman B.E.M. Local councillors, housing associations, Citizens Advice Bureau and social landlords from across the region also attended.
Following the official opening by the Lord Mayor of Liverpool, there were introductory talks for local landlords, housing associations and Citizens Advice Bureau on the government fuel-saving schemes.
In addition to being a showroom for the latest renewable energy technologies, the new centre will also act as a regional hub for community workshops and surgeries on how to reduce fuel bills, lessen energy waste and become more self-sufficient.
Director Stephen Lawrenson said, “We are very proud of what we have achieved so far and delighted to receive the backing of our Lord Mayor and local MPs. Whether callers to the centre are relying on grants to get the heating they need, or they just want some help and advice to choose the most economical and efficient system for them, we are here to help.”
